Practice Philosophy
I am an internist, a physician with advanced training in the non-surgical care of adult patients. Internist treat problems of the heart, lungs, digestive system, nervous system, skin, joints, and muscles, such as high blood pressure and diabetes. I also have special training in geriatrics and usually do not see patients under the age of 18.
On one of your first visits, I recommend that you undergo a complete history and physical examination. This enables me to obtain important baseline data for future reference. I hope to prevent or detect health problems early by reducing risk factors and using screening tests during times of good health.

Internal Medicine
Internists are equipped to deal with whatever problem a patient brings—no matter how common or rare, or how simple or complex. They are specially trained to solve puzzling diagnostic problems and can handle severe chronic illnesses and situations where several different illnesses may strike at the same time. In today's complex medical environment, internists take pride in caring for their patients for life—in the office or clinic, during hospitalization and in nursing homes.
Geriatrics
Geriatrics is an area of medicine dealing with elderly patients. Geriatricians work to promote the health of the elderly, to prevent and treat diseases they may encounter, and to minimize medications and their side effects.
